At Silverbrook, our main goal is for all of our guests to enjoy the great tradition of fishing. Our attendant will get you set up with everything you need to fish including: poles, bait and bucket. Have some fun and come home with dinner! As you catch your fish, simply place them in your bucket and when you are finished bring your bucket to the attendant and they will measure the fish and figure out the cost. The prices for the most common size of our fish are listed below.

OWL (Orphaned Wildlife) Rehabilitation Society is a registered non-profit organization whose staff and volunteers are dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of injured and orphaned raptors and to educating the public on the conservation and importance of them.

OWL became a registered Society in January of 1985 (Registration No. S-19879) and is run by a Board of Directors. We are licensed through the Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource Operations.

The facility specializes in birds of prey only (eagles, falcons, hawks, ospreys, owls, & vultures) and has rescued thousands of patients since the beginning of OWL. They are sent to OWL from all over British Columbia, and occasionally special cases from other provinces, with the help of a network of dedicated volunteers. We also receive assistance from Conservation Officers, veterinary clinics, Police Officers, highway maintenance crews, and other community groups in rescuing these birds and receive transportation help from Bandstra Trucking Company, Pacific Coastal Airlines, Central Mountain Air, Harbour Air Seaplanes, and many others.

Panning for gold! Yukon Dan teaches the wonder of gold panning using a hands on technique! He is also full of knowledge and loves to share.

The Canadian Gold Rushes: Dan has great knowledge about the Canadian Gold Rushes, specifically The Fraser River, Bonanza Creek and Williams Creek Gold Rushes, where Billy Barker found his wealth in gold! He brings to life such such colorful characters as Skookum Jim, George Carmacks & Taggish Charlie - all who discovered gold back in 1896 - and tells how they made they mark during the gold rush. Dan also looks back on the history of the Fraser River, Barkerville, and the Yukon Gold Rushes, and how the three are similar.

Facts about Gold: Dan's knowledge of Gold (and other minerals) equals his ability to pull it out of a creek...almost! Dan covers topics such as how gold is valued and why it is different colors, why gold floats on oil (and what to do to avoid it floating out of your pan!), how to find gold in the rivers and creeks today, and most importantly - where to start looking for the gold! On display will be gold nuggets, gold jewellery, vials containing gold flakes from different creeks and rivers, and an explanation about their size, color and mineral content.
